Tara Cain Design is a full-service boutique design firm in Minneapolis, serving residential and commercial clients across the United States. Projects have been featured in 1stDibs, Homes & Gardens, Livingetc, Artful Living, and Midwest Home. The studio is currently at work on projects in Minneapolis, a lake home in Nisswa, a cottage in Northern Michigan, and pieds-à-terre in Georgetown and the West Village.

Tara Cain creates interiors that are timeless, restrained, and richly layered, with an emphasis on material, proportion, and long-term livability. She brings a clear point of view to each project while remaining closely attuned to her clients. She leads the process, manages its complexity, and guides the many decisions involved in creating a home that feels both highly refined and entirely personal.

A Minneapolis native, Tara spent more than a decade living with her family in Berlin and Atlanta. Those years shaped an appreciation for interiors that hold history and modern life in equal measure, while continued international travel has broadened her perspective on architecture, art, craftsmanship, and the different ways people inhabit their homes. Her work draws on those influences with restraint, favoring depth, character, and endurance over anything overtly referential or trend-driven.

Before establishing her design practice, Tara worked in the corporate world, where she developed the rigor, organization, and decisiveness that now define her approach to complex projects. She works closely with architects, builders, art advisors, craftspeople, and makers, often helping clients assemble the right team from the outset. Whether leading a ground-up residence, a significant renovation, or a comprehensive furnishing project, Tara acts as both designer and steward, protecting her clients' time, energy, and investment while guiding the work toward a home of lasting beauty, depth, and distinction.
